Replacement Windows and Doors in Bear, Delaware

Windows and doors that open easy, close tight and keep the weather out.

Windows that close right and keep the weather out

A lot of homes around here still have original aluminum windows, early vinyl windows with fogged glass, or doors that let daylight in around the edges. You feel it as a draft in January and a hot room in July.

Replacement windows only work as well as they are installed. We measure every opening, set each window level and square, insulate the gaps, and seal and flash the outside so water stays out.

What we do

Replacement windows

Double hung, sliders, casements, picture windows, and bay or bow windows. Most go into the existing frame without tearing up your walls.

Full frame windows

When the old frame is rotted, we take it out down to the opening and start fresh.

Entry doors

Steel and fiberglass front doors with new sills and weatherstripping.

Sliding patio doors

Old sliders that stick, leak, or fog up between the glass.

Storm doors

A simple upgrade for front and back doors that take the weather.

Outside trim

We wrap the outside trim in aluminum so there is nothing left to paint.

Why the install matters here

Wind driven rain

Nor'easter rain hits the walls, not just the roof. A window without proper flashing lets water into the wall where you will not see it for years.

Humidity

Poorly sealed windows let humid air in all summer, and old glass sweats on cold winter mornings.

Freeze and thaw

Water that sits on a sill or behind trim freezes and opens up the joints. That is how a small leak turns into rotted framing.

Signs it is time to replace

How window replacement goes

  1. Measure and price

We measure every opening and give you a written price with each window listed.

  2. Order

Most windows are made to order and take a few weeks to come in. We give you a date when we order.

  3. Install

One opening at a time, so your house is never left wide open. Each window is set, insulated and sealed.

  4. Trim and clean up

Inside and outside trim gets finished, and we clean up before we leave.

What we install

Vinyl replacement windows with insulated glass are the most common choice. They do not need paint and they come in styles to fit most homes.

We install Simonton windows and doors, and we can show you a few styles side by side before you decide.

We stand behind it

We stand behind the install. If a window we put in leaks or will not operate right, call us and we will come back and fix it. The window itself is covered by the manufacturer warranty.

Window questions

How long do new windows take to come in?

Most are made to order. Plan on a few weeks between ordering and install. We give you a date when we place the order.

How long does the install take?

Most homes take one or two days once the windows arrive.

Do I have to replace every window at once?

No. Some people start with the worst ones or one side of the house. Doing more at once usually lowers the price per window.

Will new windows lower my energy bill?

Replacing old single pane or failed windows usually helps comfort right away. How much it saves depends on the house, so we will not promise a number.
